Mini Weapons: History and Craft (Online Class) Overview Welcome to "Mini Weapons: History and Craft," a dynamic and interactive online class designed for students in the 4th to 6th grade. Over 15 weeks, we will explore the fascinating history of various weapons and devices, followed by hands-on crafting sessions where students will create their own mini versions using everyday household items. This class combines education and creativity, providing a unique learning experience that is both informative and fun. Course Structure Each week, students will engage in a 15-to-30-minute lecture on the historical significance and development of a specific weapon or device. After the lecture, students will participate in a crafting session to build a mini weapon inspired by the historical lesson. The class will be held online, with live demonstrations, interactive discussions, and step-by-step guidance for each craft project. Learning Objectives Understand the historical context and evolution of various weapons and devices. Develop fine motor skills and creativity through hands-on crafting activities. Week 2: Paper Clip Crossbows Historical Lesson: Medieval European crossbows. Craft: Paper clip crossbow. Week 3: Pencil Sling Shots Historical Lesson: Slingshots in various cultures. Craft: Pencil slingshot. Week 4: Straw Blowguns Historical Lesson: Blowguns in South America and Southeast Asia. Craft: Straw blowgun.
