54 Signatures to Go — Let’s Hit 200 for Injured Veterans!

By Kirk Carlson | USMC Veteran | Founder, Covenant of Courage

The #ReasonableRanks campaign is gaining real momentum—and we’re getting closer by the day to a major milestone: 200 signatures on our national petition calling for justice and reform for injured veterans.

As of today, we’ve collected 146 signatures, each one a voice demanding dignity, recognition, and support for service members who were discharged due to injury or illness during training—without the opportunity for reassignment or proper benefits.

Now, we’re just 54 signatures away from our next big goal.

🔥 Why This Matters

Too often, service members who become injured early in their careers are quietly discharged and sent home without the tools or benefits they need to survive—let alone thrive. They are left behind, despite taking the same oath and showing the same willingness to serve.

#ReasonableRanks was created to address this injustice by advocating for:

  • Career reassignment options for those injured during training

  • Retention of benefits, including healthcare and retirement eligibility

  • Public recognition of their service and sacrifice

🗳️ What We’ve Accomplished So Far

  • 145+ petition signatures and climbing

  • Community outreach across Southern California—flyers, speeches, and tabling events

  • Media attention from national journalists and veteran publications

  • Upcoming City Council vote in Corona on June 6—our first official endorsement

  • Scheduled meeting with the Janet Goeske Foundation on June 9 to explore wellness collaborations

🚀 What’s Next: The Signature Sprint Challenge

We’ve launched our Signature Sprint Challenge to hit 200 by next week—and we need your help.

This movement is powered by veterans and supporters like you—people who believe that no one who wears the uniform should be cast aside after an injury.

🎯 Our Goal Is Bigger Than Numbers

Yes, we’re chasing 200 signatures—but this campaign is about more than that. It’s about real policy change, healing stories, and national accountability. It’s about making sure every veteran—whether combat-wounded or injured during training—is given a fair chance to continue their service or transition with dignity.
