Covenant of Courage Reaches 120 Signatures in #ReasonableRanks Campaign, Sends Official Appeals to Congress and National Veterans’ Organizations
Corona, CA — Covenant of Courage is proud to announce that the #ReasonableRanks campaign has reached a major grassroots milestone with over 120 signatures calling for justice and reform in military discharge policy for injured service members.
The campaign urges the Department of Defense and Congress to establish non-combat reassignment options and protect retirement benefits for those medically discharged due to service-connected injuries. Many veterans are forced out of service despite being capable of continuing in vital administrative, instructional, or technical roles.
This week, Covenant of Courage formally contacted:
U.S. House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees
White House Office of Military Family Engagement
National advocacy organizations including the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Wounded Warrior Project, and media outlets Military Times and Task & Purpose
“We’re amplifying the voices of those who served and were cast aside simply because they could no longer meet combat physical standards,” said Kirk Carlson, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and founder of Covenant of Courage. “These veterans still have value, skills, and the will to serve—our nation must offer them a second chance.”
The campaign has gained momentum through campus outreach, veteran testimonials, and growing community support. A public petition continues to gather signatures and stories from across the country.
