Empowering the Next Generation: Covenant of Courage Launches JLBC Cadet Corps Youth Program

Corona, CA – May 2025 — Covenant of Courage, a California-based nonprofit committed to serving veterans, first responders, and at-risk communities, is proud to announce the official launch of its youth division: JLBC Cadet Corps. This dynamic leadership and mentorship program is designed to empower young people across Southern California by instilling discipline, civic responsibility, and personal growth through a military-style framework tailored for youth development.

As part of Covenant of Courage’s expanding mission, JLBC Cadet Corps represents a bold step forward in addressing the urgent need for positive pathways for youth, especially in underserved and trauma-impacted communities.

Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

JLBC Cadet Corps provides structured training in:

  • Leadership and citizenship

  • Mental and physical fitness

  • Conflict resolution and peer mentorship

  • Career and college readiness

  • Community service and civic engagement

Led by a team of trained mentors and educators, the program empowers cadets aged 12–18 to become confident, compassionate, and community-minded leaders.

“JLBC Cadet Corps is more than a program—it’s a movement. We’re giving youth the tools to rise above their circumstances and become the change-makers their communities need,” says Kirk Carlson, President at Covenant of Courage.

Why It Matters

With rising concerns about youth violence, mental health, and educational disparities, JLBC Cadet Corps is a timely and transformative initiative. By combining structure with support, the program helps cadets develop self-discipline, emotional resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Cadets participate in:

  • Weekend training camps

  • Community leadership projects

  • Workshops on mental health, civic responsibility, and goal-setting

  • Peer mentoring opportunities

Serving the Inland Empire and Beyond

The program currently operates in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties, with plans to expand across the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley. Through strategic partnerships with schools, local governments, and veteran leaders, Covenant of Courage ensures JLBC Cadet Corps reaches the youth who need it most.
