Palisades Fire Community Update – January 11, 2025

On January 11, 2025, CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 2 and the Los Angeles County Fire Department hosted a live community meeting to provide updates on the ongoing Palisades Fire. The wildfire has now grown to 23,654 acres and remains at 11% containment.

Fire Progression and Impact

The Palisades Fire, which started on January 7, has been fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds and exceptionally dry conditions. Over 12,000 structures have been destroyed, and the fire has tragically claimed at least 11 lives. Mandatory evacuation orders have displaced over 153,000 residents, with an additional 166,000 placed on high alert.
