#ReasonableRanks: Campaign for Medically Discharged Veterans

Led by Covenant of Courage | Founder: Kirk Carlson, USMC Veteran

🎯 Campaign Mission

#ReasonableRanks is a veteran-led advocacy campaign demanding fairness, dignity, and recognition for military service members who were honorably discharged due to injuries during training—without the chance to continue their service, receive full benefits, or be reassigned.

📌 Why It Matters

Thousands of men and women raise their right hand, begin basic training, and suffer career-ending injuries before deployment. Many of them:

  • Are discharged without career reassignment options

  • Lose access to healthcare and retirement benefits

  • Receive no public recognition for their service

These veterans are left behind in silence. It’s time to change that.

✅ Our Goals

  1. Policy Reform

Advocate for DoD and VA changes to ensure medically discharged veterans are offered reassignment or alternative service paths.

  2. Benefit Protection

Preserve access to critical VA benefits—including healthcare, housing, and retirement—for veterans discharged due to training injuries.

  3. Recognition and Equity

Honor the sacrifice of those who served—whether on the battlefield or at boot camp—with equal respect and public acknowledgment.
