🚨 208 Signatures and Rising: The #ReasonableRanks Movement Gains Momentum

In just a few short weeks, the #ReasonableRanks campaign has grown from a local call to action into a national conversation—thanks to 208 supporters who have stepped up to demand dignity and justice for injured service members.

This milestone is more than a number. It represents 208 voices raised in support of reassignment pathways for medically discharged veterans. It means 208 people believe that service should never be erased by injury, and that our military should honor commitment with compassion.

🛡️ What #ReasonableRanks Stands For

Founded by Marine Corps veteran and advocate Kirk Carlson, #ReasonableRanks is pushing for reforms to current Department of Defense discharge policies that separate non-deployable personnel—even when they can serve in critical domestic or support roles.

Many veterans—especially women, disabled service members, and those from underserved backgrounds—face early medical discharge with little support or recognition. They are not given options. They are not given alternatives. They are dismissed. And that is a failure of both policy and leadership.

📢 208 Voices Are Saying:

  • Injured troops should have the right to serve in alternative roles.

  • Medical discharges must be reviewed with transparency and fairness.

  • The VA and DoD must collect data on inequities in discharge and benefit access.

  • Every service member’s willingness to serve matters, even if combat is no longer an option.

🧭 Why This Matters

This campaign is powered by veterans, families, and everyday citizens who are tired of watching good people pushed out of the ranks simply because the system can’t flex.

We’re building a path forward—not just for today’s veterans, but for future generations of service members who deserve better.

✅ What’s Next

  • Submitting proposals to Congress and key committees

  • Collecting letters of support from elected officials, churches, and community organizations

  • Continuing outreach to veteran legal clinics, civil rights groups, and national media

  • Growing the petition to 500+ signatures to amplify our collective voice
