📢 Campaign Update: #ReasonableRanks Reaches New Milestones in Veteran Advocacy

By Kirk Carlson | USMC Veteran | Founder, Covenant of Courage

📅 June 2025

The #ReasonableRanks campaign continues to gain powerful momentum as we push for long-overdue justice for medically discharged veterans—those injured during training and denied the opportunity to continue serving in another role.

This month, we’ve officially reached 150+ petition signatures, spoken to new leaders and organizations in Southern Nevada, and prepared for a major public appeal to the City of Corona on June 6.

🔍 What’s New

✅ Petition Growth

We’re now at over 150 signatures and counting. Every new name added is a show of solidarity for forgotten service members who were discharged before deployment but never stopped wanting to serve.

✅ Las Vegas Outreach

While on the ground in Las Vegas, I’ve spoken to anyone who will listen—from hotel lobbies to veteran centers. I’ve also sent personal messages to organizations like:

  • Nevada Veterans Foundation

  • UNLV Military & Veteran Services

  • Honor Flight Southern Nevada

  • Nevada Dept. of Veterans Services

  • Horsemanship for Heroes

  • City Officials and Councilmembers

Our goal: to build a statewide support network that recognizes ALL veterans, including those injured in training.

✅ June 6 City Council Meeting

We’re preparing for a major speech at the City of Corona Council Meeting where we will formally request an endorsement resolution. This would mark the first official city endorsement of the #ReasonableRanks campaign.

🎯 What We’re Fighting For

  • Career Reassignment Options for injured service members

  • Full Access to VA Benefits regardless of deployment status

  • Recognition and Honor for all who served—even if their service was cut short by injury

  • Legislative Reform to change outdated military separation policies

🫡 Final Word

Veterans who are injured in training deserve better. They answered the call to serve and should not be forgotten because their injury came before deployment. The #ReasonableRanks movement is about honoring every oath, every sacrifice, and every story.

Let’s keep going—all the way to Washington.
