What happens when the mission endsābut the war inside continues?
For many veterans, the transition from military to civilian life is not a straight path. Itās filled with invisible wounds, physical limitations, and the search for renewed purpose. At Covenant of Courage, we believe that purpose isnāt foundāitās forged. Thatās why we created a new kind of workshop built around veteran empowerment, adaptive leadership, and community resilience.
On September weāre bringing this mission to the Janet Goeske Foundation in Riverside, CA, for a powerful session titled:
āFrom Crisis to Purpose: Reclaiming Strength, Leadership, and Communityā
This isnāt just a lecture. Itās a movement.

š„ What to Expect
Veterans who attend will experience a safe space to connect, reflect, and rebuild. The class combines peer support, leadership development, and adaptive recovery tools rooted in lived military experience.
Topics include:
⢠ā Mental resilience and trauma recovery
⢠ā Rebuilding identity after injury or discharge
⢠ā Adaptive fitness and tactical mindset training
⢠ā Opportunities to lead and mentor through JLBC Cadet Corps
⢠ā How to turn crisis into a calling

š¬ Real Talk. Real Tools. Real Leadership.
This workshop isnāt about perfectionāitās about progress. Whether youāre dealing with physical injury, PTSD, loss of mission, or the weight of silence, youāre not alone. Youāre a leader in waiting. Youāre still needed. You still matter.
You donāt need a uniform to serve. You need purpose, structure, and a team that wonāt leave you behind.

š” Why It Matters
66,000 service members were labeled non-deployable in 2018 due to illness or injury. Many were quietly discharged, stripped of roles, dignity, and opportunities for meaningful contribution. Our work through the #ReasonableRanks campaign demands changeābut our boots-on-the-ground programs create it now.
We are proving that:
⢠Veterans can become community leaders.
⢠Recovery is not weaknessāitās training.
⢠Purpose is not a dreamāitās a mission.
