Over the past several weeks, the #ReasonableRanks campaign has continued to grow in strength and visibility—thanks to the support of veterans, civic leaders, and compassionate citizens across Southern California.
Campaign Milestones:
We’ve surpassed 140 signatures on our petition calling for dignity and recognition for medically discharged veterans.
We’ve submitted formal proclamation requests to multiple cities, including Corona, Moreno Valley, Riverside, San Jacinto, and Newport Beach.
The campaign was featured at community tabling events, a Memorial Day speaking engagement at Beth Shalom, and a fundraiser at Lazy Dog Restaurant.
Veteran Voices Lead the Way:
Thanks to brave individuals like Robert Basso and Luis Gras, the #ReasonableRanks message is personal and powerful. Their stories—of medical discharge, silent sacrifice, and continued service in civilian life—have formed the emotional foundation of this movement. Their experiences are now published in our official testimonial packet and shared with elected officials across the region.
City-Level Engagement:
City Clerks and Councilmembers from Corona and Moreno Valley responded promptly and respectfully, offering to share our materials with elected officials and providing access to upcoming public comment sessions.
In Newport Beach, Councilmember Robyn Grant expressed appreciation for the campaign and affirmed the city’s commitment to veteran support.
We’ve also submitted materials to KVCR Public Media and initiated contact with their community engagement team.
What’s Next:
We are compiling a full outreach packet with a clean cover page, campaign flyer, proclamation request, petition excerpt, and veteran testimonials.
We are planning our next public comment presentation at a City Council meeting in June.
More media coverage, interviews, and speaking opportunities are in the works.
We remain committed to making sure that no veteran is forgotten—especially those whose service ended before it truly began. Whether you’re a city leader, a fellow veteran, or a supporter of justice, we invite you to stand with us.
