Covenant of Courage Surpasses 140 Signatures in #ReasonableRanks Petition

During Memorial Day Weekend Fundraiser

Corona, CA - Over Memorial Day weekend, local nonprofit Covenant of Courage marked a powerful

milestone in its grassroots advocacy campaign #ReasonableRanks. With over 140 petition

signatures, the campaign is gaining momentum in its call for military discharge reform and support for injured service members who wish to continue serving in non-combat roles.

Founder and USMC Veteran Kirk Carlson has led a series of community outreach events, including a multi-day fundraiser at Lazy Dog Restaurant + Bar in Corona. The event brought together supporters, veterans, and community members who shared stories, signed the petition, and pledged to help build a more just system for disabled service members.

"Each signature represents someone who believes our injured veterans deserve more than

discharge - they deserve opportunity," said Carlson. "This weekend wasn't just about raising money. It was about raising awareness, connecting with our community, and giving a voice to veterans like Robert L. Basso and Luis Gras, whose service was cut short but whose commitment never faded."

The #ReasonableRanks campaign advocates for:

- Non-combat reassignment opportunities for injured service members

- Protection of retirement and healthcare benefits- An end to systemic discharges that overlook ongoing capacity to serve. To learn more about the campaign, sign the petition, or share a veteran story, visit
